Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Humanoid Threats ("we", "us") collects when you visit www.humanoidthreats.com (the "Site") or subscribe to our newsletter, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Newsletter and account information. When you subscribe or create a free account, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name. We also record your subscription status and the date you signed up.
- Email engagement. We may record whether our emails are delivered and opened and which links are clicked, so we can improve the newsletter.
- Usage and device information. We use Google Analytics and our publishing platform's built-in analytics to understand how the Site is used: pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to do this.
- Information you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use information
- To send you the newsletter and other emails you asked for, and to manage your subscription.
- To operate, secure, maintain and improve the Site and our content.
- To measure readership and understand which topics are useful.
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on these bases: your consent (for example when you subscribe, which you can withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests in running and improving the Site; and compliance with legal obligations.
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the Site, under contracts that limit their use of it. These include:
- Ghost (Ghost Foundation): website hosting, membership and newsletter delivery, including its email delivery partners.
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Cloudflare: domain name and DNS services.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, sale or transfer of the Site or its assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to the information transferred.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies that are needed to keep you signed in to your account, and analytics cookies from Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work, although signing in may not.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep information
We keep subscriber information while you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, then delete or anonymize it. Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings of the analytics tools.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us at the address below.
- You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
